I am curious why the forum software would allow the posting of empty messages, such as this one (which has the entire post in the title line instead).
Apparently, the forum code does a few sanity checks, for example if I try to reply to it without modifying the title, it won't let me, claiming the title is too long (Message subject cannot exceed 256 characters). 😮 It event adds the [NT] tag icon for empty messages.
(well, maybe the automatically added "RE: " pushed it over the limit. :))
- I think the title line should be limited to much fewer characters (e.g. 80, or a single line in a typical browser window layout)
- I also think that posts without anything in the body (text, image, attachment) should be rejected.
