drag and dropped it...

So we have that new mechanism to drag&drop files. Seems a bit disfunctional.

Often I don't have a folder open, so I would like to browse for a file as before. That tiny, non-underlined(!) "browse" link is hard to find and hit. Why can't we just click anywhere in that square to browse???

If I drag a file over this area the entire window area starts to flicker frantically until I drop, with two possible outcomes:

  • If the mouse is in the right location, the file gets attached.
  • If the mouse is slightly in the wrong location when dropping, the file appears in the downloads instead (same as plain drag into the browser)

Hi Christian,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. There are some known issues with the new drag-and-drop functionality which we have listed here. I've added the two issues you reported:

  • In Firefox and Chrome, if you drag an attachment over into the browser, but do not let go, the "drop your files here" text will appear on and off screen repeatedly.
  • In Chrome, if you drag an attachment over into the browser, and do not place it within the attachments area, the file will download or open in browser.

As for your feedback, I don't think changes can be made to the browse functionality (clicking within the whole box) but we can look into extending the hyperlink and underlining it.

We are actively working with our community platform vendor on all issues and feedback.

Thanks,

Lili
