message flooding warning

When replying to duplicate of this duplicate post (duplicates #1, #2, #3, #4) I received a red warning "message flooding detected" (similar text like this) when setting a simple (and always the same) "duplicate post" link.

It's ok for me, but why doesn't seem to get the original poster no warning like this?

Gerd pondered "It's ok for me, but why doesn't seem to get the original poster no warning like this?"

Now there is the question that really needs answered!

JLV and I have discussed in the LabVIEW Champions forum with Laura but we failed to ask the key question, that being as you posted above.

I'll let Laura handle it from here.

Hi Gerd,

Those duplicates are not actually submitted by the user, but rather seem to have something to do with a combination of tab + enter keys used in Internet Explorer.  I try to clean up the duplicates if someone alerts me to them.  However, if someone has replied to them before I can delete the duplicates, I usually leave them there.

The good news is that our forum vendor is aware of this and I'll keep you updated about any expected fixes.

Thanks!

Yes, I did notice that hitting the "wrong" sequence of keys will submit the message.  When I do that, I simply edit the original post.

I was also surprised that the original poster did not get taht message.  I did ask that question, but in one of those multiple posts!

It also detects if you post the exact same thing multiple times (more than 3?) and will detect the frequency of posts, regardless of post content or thread..
