Can I programatically change FP-AI-100 voltage range?

I need to programatically change the input voltage range on one of the channels of an FP-AI-100 from '-6 to 6' to '-1.25 to 1.25', is this possible & if so how?

JB1,

"Configure Range.vi" will let you programmatically change channel ranges.  I'm pretty sure you'll be using predefined ranges like +/-10v and +/-5v    Available ranges should be listed in the manual for the FP-AI-100.

Thanks for the response but....

Perhaps I should have mentioned this when I asked the question but my fieldpoint units are connected using RS485 and configure range.vi is on the Ethernet pallet.

I am assuming that I need to do this using the optomux vis but, which one and how I know not and as yet have been unable to any of the optomux vis to talk to my fieldpoint devices at all.

Hi JB1,

As stated in the user manual for the FP-AI-100 can only be configured for: 0–1 V, 0–5 V, 0–15 V, 0–30 V, ±1 V, ±5 V,
±15 V, ±30 V, 0–20 mA, 4–20 mA, and ±20 mA. So it won't be possible to work between -1.5 - 1.5 V.

Kind regards,

Hi Ben

What I really need to know is how to change the range programmatically. It doesn't matter what the range is.

Regards

JB1

Hi JB1,

Have you looked through the FieldPoint Optomux Programming Reference Help ? If you refer to the section "Attributes, Ranges, and Commands" this should help you change the range.
