Embedded VI's, writing to multiple displays (RS232) through the RS485 on the cFP2020

I need help on how to write to several (6) displays (RS232) from the RS485 port on the cFP2020. Anyone done this?

This may be sound obvious, but do you want to write different data to each display, or all the same? I'd guess different to each.

It doesn't sound easy. You have to address each module at RS485 to the right display, then convert to RS232 levels.

Or...

Convert to RS232 and use something external to enable or disable the 232 line to each display.

Anybody think of anything simpler?

I agree with Cfarmer that this is not going to be a quicky.

Black Box (www.blackbox.com) sells a "SmartNode 485". I believe it will allow you t address each of the displays using a unique address.

This should do the trick!
