The meter can not be directly connected into the FP-1600. Your application should treat the FieldPoint system and the meter as two separate entities. They will co-exist, but not necessarily interact with each other. If you do not have a computer near the location of the FieldPoint bank and the meter, then you may want to purchase a RS-232 to Ethernet Converter. National Instruments makes several Enet/232 and Enet/485 converters. I have provided a link to the catalog pages:
