What is the minimum resistance that can be driven with a loop voltage of 30 VDC applied?   I have (3) modules that exhibit the same problem: A single channel near full scale output (20 mA) fails, reporting a fault condition on the module.   No external fault exist.  External load is 56 ohms.

Hi Robert,

I got a chance to talk to a few of our developers and I found out that there is no minimum resistance requirement for the FP-AO-200.

Essentially the Short Circuit protection circuitry will only trigger if it senses that the amperage is going over 20mA.  So 56 Ohms shouldn't be a problem.  You may want to confirm with an Ammeter or Voltmeter what the Current/voltage is across the resistor.  If for some reason it's going over 20 mA then that would give you the fault situation that you are noticing.
