Starting with FieldPoint Explorer 3.0.2, the channel naming method was changed for modules that have non-homogenous channel types such as the PG and CTR modules.
The new channel naming conventions were created to increase ease of use. The new naming will not effect previously created IAK files. Only when either "Find Devices" is pressed, which automatically overwrites all of the channels on a resource, or when a new IAK file is created will the change be seen. It will not break any previous code. Likewise, you can simply rename the channels if you wish to keep using the old channel names.
It is possible to disable the new naming by modifying the registry, but this will result in a warning box indicating that generic channel naming is used every time the F
ieldPoint server is launched (i.e. open FieldPoint Explorer or run a LabVIEW program with FP Open.vi) so I would not recommend it.
