FP-TB-10 "reboots" occasionally

I have three systems running FP-2010s with a handful of other modules, one of which is a TB-10. Every now and then, the TB-10 lights go out, the analog outputs on it go to zero and stay there. A second or so later, the Power light comes back on, followed by the ready light. Sometimes this happens several times in a minute, other times it could go a week with no problems. I have an identically configured system that does not have this problem. When I switched modules between the systems, the error followed the TB-10, not the modules or the FP-2010. My third system is not running right now, but has displayed similar behavior in the past, just not as often. The following posts seem similar, but I couldn't find anything more recent:

Is it possible that I have 2 out of three bad TB-10 modules, as these posts would suggest? I have reseated modules, etc. with no effect. It probably wouldn't matter if I only had inputs hooked up, but the analog outputs jumping to zero is causing an e-stop on my motion system.

Thanks to all.

Hi James,

The FP-TB-10 is designed to reboot itself everytime it detects a new dual channel module since they are hot-swappable. If there is an empty slot next to an AI or AO dual channel module, the FP-TB-10 Terminal Base may incorrectly detect the AI or AO module next to it. Everytime it detects a different module, the FP-TB-10 will reset itself. Since you have multiple modules, try filling all empty slots in the FP-TB-10 to determine if this is the issue involved.

Thanks,
Lesley Y.

Lesley-

Thanks for your reply. I have a spare DC output dual module that I put in the last empty slot in the TB-10, which was next to the module I am having trouble with. We'll monitor it and see if I lose my analog output again. I sure hope this works!

It's been a couple weeks now with no errors. I think we can put this one in the books. Thank you very much for the help.
