HELP ! need to configure an added module to TB-10

I am very new to the Fieldpoint system and I am following up on someone's work. I am confused about the following
1. I launch my FP Explorer. I see 2 devices in my server (FP-2000 @0 and FP-TB-10 @1 -- what do the @0 and @1 mean?) and withing these devices I see a number of items/channels.
By clicking on 'start monitoring' all items are successfully monitored and their icons turn blue.
How do I know for sure that my fieldpoint explorer is talking to the FP system, or in other words('since my computer and FP system communicate via internet'), where is the internet setting located. how to verify that.

2.I have replaced an IO module in my TB-10.(to an AO-V10B)
How do I modify its configuration in my FP Explorer.
Whe
n I try to edit the existing item for the replaced module, and I click on the 'type' to change it to 'Analog Output', I get the choice (in 'Channels used on this system' section) to check only 2 boxes corresponding to channels ,but the ones for another channel(another AO module).
Why is this happening. What do I do ? Please advise.

Based on someone's kind response I will follow on with more queries.
can someone please help me in his/her earliest convenience?
Many thanks

The @0 and @1 are the locations of the modules in the system: The network module is always @0, the next module to the right is @1, etc.

If you monitor an item and get a valid timestamp and a "Successful" status, then you are communicating to the FP. The IP settings are done via the Remote Systems Explorer. To get to that, go to the top level of the tree in FP explorer and choose "Add a comm resource", then choose an Ethernet device and browse. Remote System Explorer will open, you should see your FP unit and be able to configure it.

There are several ways to configure your I-O modules. One way to get the right configuration is to upload the information from the FP system to FP explorer (the "Find devices" option). This will ensure that FP explorer lists
what is actually installed instead of what is listed in your iak file, but it can cause problems if you have a vi that is using names defined in an iak file.
