How can I retain the local user name when using imported network tags?

I am using network tags that have been imported from a remote DSC module 6.1 application. I would like to retain the remote user in the tag records instead of whoever is logged in locally. Is this possible?

I am not sure I totally understand your question so would it be possible for you to elaborate a little bit more on that topic.
Did you just import the tag and made changes locally or are you actually connected remotely to the process on the remote machine?

I am connected to the remote process through network tags. Data is being logged locally at the process and on another workstation where the network tags are configured. I need to record the original user of the remote process for tracebility. This works fine on the local system, but the person logged into the workstaion using the network tags gets recorded in that database. I just thought there may be a way to retain the original user id.

Unfortunately there is no pre defined option for that, but one thing you could do, if you need to record the original user of the remote process for tracebility,is to use the security VI's on System>>Security Palette of the DSC functions to create a login programmatically on the workstation where the tags are configured and send the value of the user name to a string tag that you would retrieve on the other workstation.
