Incorrect reading from Thermcouples

We have seen a few instances where grounding the backplane made
strange readings settle down.  Not always, but it happens.  Really
depends on how noisy your environment is.  Anything interesting,
electrically, nearby?  Things that hum or arc in the same room,
room above, room below, etc?  Radio transmitters, walkie-talkies
w/in 50', larger antennas w/in 100 yards, etc.?

Proper shielding and grounding can sometimes solve very odd
problems.  No guarantees, but a necessary step in the troubleshooting.

I'm eager to hear the results of your testing tonight.

Matt,

Actually there is a huge refridgerator coil not 4' from the FP module! That may be causing some EMI issues. I will ground the wires and report back! If that doesn't work I will try the other ideas. Of course the wire it self is sheilded so that should take care of the sheilding part I jsut need to worry about he grounding part now.

Thanks!
