Low Frequency Measurements using counter timers

Hi Russell,

I should have clarified more about the output pulse train. The FP-500 has 4 configurable counter outputs in addition to the counter inputs. I would like you to try outputting pulses on one of the counter output channels and wire that signal directly to the gate input. I believe that if you do this, you will be able to see consistent data.

Thank you for all your help. I discovered why the frequency measurement wasn't working.

I needed to connect an external power supply to V and C on the CB-1 terminal block for the CTR-500.

You had a mentioned that I should make sure the module was powered, but I didn't know that I needed to connect the V and C to an external power supply.

It is all working now.
