My FieldPoint FP-2000 doesn't boot - just Power LED, nothing else

My FP2000 has stopped booting. When I turn on the power supply, the Power LED turns on, and nothing else. Status and ABCD should light while the OS loads but don't. I've tried the reset procedure from the manual (flip reset switch, then power up). The Status LED is supposed to turn on but doesn't. As far as I can tell, this thing seems dead! Is there anything else I can try?

Some background. The unit was working fine about 2 weeks ago. I changed its IP address to a new network where it would be permanently installed and lost communication with it as expected. I powered everything down and moved it to another building. It sat there while other parts of the project were assembled and when I was
finally called in to turn it on...nothing. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Things to check :

Power supply : It might be there you are using a different power supply in the new network, if you are not applying a voltage between 11 and 30 volts the controller might have any unexpected behavior. I would measure the voltage between the terminals V and C and would to double check the appropriated value is applied.

I am assuming the controller is operating within the temperature range specs.

If the power supply is OK and the temperature range is Ok, I would disconnect any I/O module from the controller and would try again, unproper wiring in the IO modules may cause the controller to misbehave... Disconnect all the terminal bases from the controller and check if the behavior still persists... If the controller then works fine,
that is a sign that there is something wrong with the wiring in the IO modules.. I would then add module per module (preferably without anything connected to their terminals) and in that way I would determine what is wrong.

Now lets imagine that even removing all terminal bases along with the IO modules the behavior still persists.. I would then move the controller back to the previous network... Just to double check that it would not work there either...

I hope it helps

Andre
