Problem in FP-1601

Hello every body

FP-1601

AI-100

AO-200

Max 4.4

LabVIEW 8.5.1

Windows Vista

I’m connect the controller 1601 to PC by using cross cable, the MAX show the controller  under remote system but if connect any module to the controller then disconnect between the controller and PC,  MAX and LabVIEW don’t show FP-1601.

How to solve this problem?

Regards,

Thanks every body

Hi!

You'd like MAX and LV to see FP module even with cable disconnected? It's not clear...

Hi!

   Once again, I don't understand.

You loose connection AFTER CONNECTING A MODULE to FP-1601, or AFTER DISCONNECTING NETWORK CABLE?

If it's the first case, how do you connect module to cFP-1601? you connect a Terminal Base while module is running? Or you just plug a module into an existing Terminal Base already connected toFP-1601?

Please clearify, the problem, here, is with LANGUAGE! (almost for me...)

Hi

I'm sorry.

Just plug a module into an existing Terminal Base already connected to FP-1601.

Thanks

Hi!

Plugging a module into an existing TB should not be a problem.  What if you power on all system with module inserted? In this case, can MAX see the FP-1601?

Another possibility can be that you have a wrong connection on the TB, some wrong Ground connection, or an electric problem like this.

   Let me know!

Hi!

From what you say, everything should be fine (I checked also User Manual, page 4-3), I don't know why you have this behavior.

The only ideas I have, are the FP-1601 is not working properly or some I/O wiring disturbs working conditions... anyway, I'd look for NI assistance.

Hi Spring,

Have you done a manual reset of the cFP-1601 with the modules already attached? Or do you add the modules, and the cFP-1601 is removed from MAX without a reset? I recommend trying the first option if you haven't already. Some other ideas for trouble-shooting problems with this network module can be found here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4368
