Setting of I P address

hello,

I am using cFp2020 field point. my field point IP is 172.25.43.2 and  my system IP is 169.254.120.091. While i am connecting this cfp through company network ie through lan it is detecting the modules. But if i am trying to connect it directly it is not pinging. i used cross cable for the second one. why is it so. i think my company has two different types of IP address.

One thing comes to my mind:  When you're trying to connect directly, make sure your Host PC has an actual IP address assigned -- as opposed to using DHCP.  And that the two IP addresses (PC's and cFP's) are on the same sub-net.

Possibly when you are connecting cFP over network,both PC and cFP are getting dynamic IP through DHCP server.

Just try by assigning static IP address to both of them.
