When taking a snapshot for a FP1001, I get a message, no device found @specific

My problem is similar to;

"Receiving the Message No device found at specified address When Setting Properties for Channels on the FieldPoint Counter Module

Product Group: FIELDPOINT Hardware

Product Name: FP-1000

Version/Revision: N/A

Problem: Using a counter module with an FP-1000/1001 module, I get the message No device found at specified address when I try to reset the module or save changes made during the channel configuration. This module works properly using the FP-1600 module; I can read and write to the module correctly. Why do I get the error code when I use it with the FP-1000/1001?

Solution: The counter module takes slightly longer to save changes than some othe
r FieldPoint modules. You need to set the timeout for the comm resource to a longer period of time. The default 100 ms does not allow the module to reset, but 150 ms and higher allows the module to reset correctly on a 57600 connection.

But My problem does this when we take a snapshot of the devices connected to the FP1001?
Why does it give this message of No device found at specified address?
Some of the other snapshots work on other fp modules but not all of them?

Mark10017,

What is the baud rate used to commincate of the FP-1001?What do you mean by snapshots-taking an actual snapshot on the bank to set up the power-up values or monitoring the values in FP explorer? How many modules and what kind of modules? What is the timeout value set at?

Hi Cyril, we are using 115200 for the baud rate. About the Snapshot in fieldpoint explorer, I may be confused as to what it actually does? For example when you select the fp module in the fp explorer configuration file, edit this device, you see the Snapshot! button on the right. I thought this button downloads all the changes in the configuration file to all my devices. We found it doesn't do anything, maybe because we are using the FP1000, instead of the 2000?

For example, we started changing some of the channel names but found out some of the modules had not been plugged in completely, so they were missed when I clicked on the find device button. We had to re-do some of the channel renaming scheme.

We have 51 modules so far, I'll attach t
he config file.
The timeout value is 100, maybe it should be higher?

What does the watchdog configuration really do?, the current & power up are both set @ 5000msec.
Talk to you later, MHU

Mark,

The snapshot button takes the current configuration of all IO modules, including the current output values for any output channels and sets these values as the powerup default for every module on the bank.

If you have no output modules, then you would not see the difference between using the Channel Configuration window for each module and the Snapshot command. Issuing the Snapshot command will over-write any configuration stored in the module.

With numerous IO modules, it may be that the network modules are taking too long to store the configuration for each IO module. Try increasing the timeout.

The Watchdog configuration allows you to set outputs to go to pre-arranged values in the event of communication loss. Please follow

For serial modules, the current watchdog sets the current watchdog configuration for the module but the config will be lost on a power cycle to the network module. The Power-up watchdog setting stores the setting but does not apply it until the next power cycle.
