cFP 2110 with 5 PWM-520s and 3 cFP AI modules completely stopped working. I could disconnect all output channels and bring them up manually in MAX. However, now I can't even drive output to one PWM, in that after supplying voltage for approximately 30 seconds, all channels on that PWM shut off. Can't determine if it's problem with controller, or perhaps power supply is failing. Power supply shows a constant 24 volts. I can reset the controller and then all 8 channels will output specificed voltage for about 30 seconds, then drop. This system is used for low voltage illumination on an aircraft cockpit display. Any help appreciated.

Hello,
In order to determine what might be going on, I am going to need a little more information about your setup such as:
-what version of the cFP drivers are you using?
-where/what device are you outputting voltage to? at what voltage? how much current do those devices require?
-could you explain further by what is meant by '[at] approximately 30 seconds, all channels on that PWM shut off'. Are the lights on the modules still illuminated when the system 'shuts off' or do they remain on?
-Do you have another power supply you could try this with?
-Does the power supply meet the specifications for use with this module per p. 4 and 5 of the FIELDPOINT AND SPECIFICATIONS™ OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FP-PWM-520 and cFP-PWM-520 Eight-Channel, 5 V...
-Does the power supply continue to output 24VDC even after the 'shut down'?

what version Not Sure
where/what device are you outputting voltage to: LED illumination lamps that illuminate aircraft cockpit controls, variable voltage ranging from 0 when off to 20 VDC at full illumination. Not sure of current demands but assume well within normal. This system powers a static display that has been operation for almost 5 years without a hiccup.
are the lights on the modules still illuminated when the system shuts off No, when the 8 channels "drop", the lights on the module go dark.
have another power supply? Well, have one on order as we suspect this may be the problem and are under time pressure to restore this display.
Does power supply meet specifications? It is a QUINT Power Supply, 24VDC, 5 amp, 120V input power, part number 2938581
does the ps continue to output 24 VDC even after the shutdown? After the module shuts down, I measure 24VDC output at the PS. But I was not able to observe the output prior to the shutdown.

From the information you have provided thus far, it appears you should verify the version of the cFP driver you have and update if not the current ( NI-Field Point 6.07) as well as try the setup with a different power supply to determine the cause. Also, has this setup ever worked? If so, what changed from when it did until now?

Hello Patricia:
Updated to current drivers, and issue still remained. I then reformatted the memory on the cFP controller, reloaded the drivers, and booted with dip switch 6 on so no vi's would load and everything is behaving as it should now. I believe we may have had a power outage or power spike that occured near the time of this issue, not sure. But we are back on track now. Thanks for your assistance and guidance.
