first acquisition very slow

Using LV8 RT with cFP : I don't understand why the first acqusition ( ONLY the first ) is very very slow : 5 seconds per read or write operation !!.
It"s very slow running on the target.

Can you help me ?.

Hi,

In my point of view it is probably due to the time use in the first loop for memory allocation, initialization, hardware configuration or something like that. Ask yourself if it can be due to one of this reason. But it is right that your execution time is very long.

I ran into the exact same problem when I upgraded from RT 7.1 to RT 8.0. The problem for me only occurs when I run the vi embedded on my cFP2120 and not when I run it off of a PC. I am waiting to hear back from NI support to see if they can determine what is wrong. Also, our local NI field engineer said he would drop by if the problem is not resolved by next week. I will post something when I find out more.

To correct the pb you can create an empty file fpremote.ini and put it in the directory "ni-rt/system" of your target.

Can I ask how you figured that out? I asked NI to include that fix in their knowledge base so that other people will not have this problem. Again, thank you: you saved me a lot of work.

I was very close to give up with FP because of that trouble. NI give me that solution.
The result is very good speaking about performance.
I've spent a week to find what was going wrong.
