fp-ai-110, update rate 500 Hz, values not stable

Hi, I am using fp-ai-110  and I need to get data atleast every 200ms and I am using 4 of the Channels. I am measuring  Current from a loop powered transducer in the range of 4-20 mA. When I use 500 Hz filter to get faster data rate the values are not at all stable. Is there any way I can stabilize the values at the same time get higher data rate?

I normally use TB-10 with C420 modules  in which I can take reading  every 12 ms , I did not realise that AI-110's rate is so low.

Hello Srin,

Unfortunately that is a limitation of the hardware.  One possible reason using the 500 Hz filer on the AI-110 is so unstable is that that setting has a resolution of 10 bits.  Because of this, you might consider the FP-AI-100 instead of the AI-110.  The AI-100 has a faster update rate, and 12 bit resolution but does not have a filter.  The Analog Input Modules for Compact FieldPoint and FieldPoint have a comparison table that may be helpful.
