installing an FP I/O module

Is there any difference between installing an FP I/O module with the key in the X position or in its apposite position? E.g. the key for an FP-AAI-110 can be in position 1 or in position X

The X position is the generic "any module can plug in here" position. The keyed positions 1 - 12 are used to prevent someone from removing an I/O module and replacing it with one that is totally different. For example the keying on the FP-AI-100 and FP-AI-110 is identical since the modules have identical pin-outs. By using the key positions, you can prevent someone from (easily) swapping out a FP-AI-110 and placing a FP-DO-400 in it's place which could then drive current into your devices, possibly damaging them.
