labview 6.1 and fieldpoint 2015

Hi, I need to develop a stand-alone data logging system, and the fp 2015 seems the best h/w choice.
Currently I have LabVIEW 6.1 and application builder as development s/w. Do I really need LabVIEW RT to develop a simple data loggind app. to be loaded on the fp 2015? Thanks
