Denver,
There are two different things that you may be referring to when you talk about powerup. Let me answer both of them.
With a serial network module (FP-1000 or FP-1001), the Power-Up option allow you to specify the state of the network communications watchdog when power is cycled to the FieldPoint bank. With serial modules, there are two different watchdog settings; Current and Power-up. With ethernet modules, the Current and Power-Up are merged into a single watchdog. When you Enable and set a timeout period for the Current Watchdog, the settings take effect immediately and will remain in effect until changed or the network module is reset (either programmatically or through a power-cycle). The Power-Up watchdog by contrast, will not take effect until
the network module is reset. It is most common for a user to set both watchdogs to the same timeout period and enable/disable state.
The communications watchdog allows you to set the state of any output channels in the case of communication failure. This is done by 1) enabling the watchdog on the network module, 2) enabling the watchdog on any desired output modules, 3) enabling the watchdog on any desired channel and 4) setting the desired output state for the enabled channel.
Alternatively, you may be referring to the Power-Up output value on output modules. The Power-Up Output Value is the setting that the channel will be set to by the network module immediately after the network module has finished it's boot cycle. The configuration of the Power-Up Output value is done on a channel per channel basis and allows you to pre-set a value for the channel to be set to.
