why Fieldpoint VIs do not appear in LabView 6i?

I have installed Labview 6i beside Labview 5.1. Fieldpoint VIs appeared OK in Labview 5.1; they do not appear any more in 6i.

You will need to install the most recent version of FieldPoint Explorer which can be located at the following web site:

You will need to uninstall your current vesion of FieldPoint Explorer, and install this version of FieldPoint Explorer in its place. The main reason why you will need this version is that the older versions of FieldPoint Explorer did not know about LabVIEW 6I. The most current revision has the added support for LabVIEW 6I.

The FieldPoint Explorer Installer prior to revision 2.0.3 will not detect a LabVIEW 6i installation. Version 2.0.3 and higher will detect LabVIEW 6i, but will only install the VI's for one version of LabVIEW on a computer. In order to use the FieldPoint VI's in both LabVIEW 5 and 6i, copy the fieldpoint folder (and it's subfolder) from one installation of LabVIEW to the vi.lib folder in the other installation. You can use an older version of FieldPoint Explorer (2.0.2 or lower) with LabVIEW 6i by choosing a custom install, selecting LabVIEW support, and pointing it at the LabVIEW 6i folder when it says that it can not find LabVIEW installed.
