TEDS reads fail for String Pots in a FlexLogger based test stand with PXIe-4339 Bridge and Voltage input cards.
String pots (or any potentiometer) can be read into a bridge channel without problem, we do it on other Test Stands not based on FlexLogger. In TEDS, they are defined with Template 33 (Bridge) and read into our other stands just fine.
When we try to read the String Pot TEDS in FlexLogger, it throws an error stating the Measurement Type (Linear Position) is not supported by the Sensor Class (Bridge). We can define them manually in FlexLogger as a "Custom" bridge type, but "Custom" is not a bridge type supported in the IEEE TEDS templates.
I understand there are a huge number of edge cases that can't be supported. But String Pots and Rotary Position Pots are extremely common and hardly seem an edge case. FlexLogger could enable the use of TEDS potentiometers if it added Linear Position and Rotary Position as valid Measurement Types for Sensor Class bridge.
