Dear Andrea,

A PCIe x16 slot allows you to work up to x16 PCIe devices. Thus your x4 card should work properly in a x16 slot.

Beware of the x16/x1 compatability

My 1429 board (x4) is a hardware failure in the x16 slot.

make sure the motherboard will support a x4 card (may only run at x1 speed).
