I've noticed that not all the System Hardware read properties are supported by the SOM, the "Hardware Rev" does not return any values, errors out the entire "System Hardware" node read and the entire node returns nothing. (How about making this a warning?)

I see the same error as you when reading the Hardware Revision property node. It doesn't seem specific to the SOM as I've seen the same behavior on sbRIOs and cRIOs. I've captured your feedback in Corrective Action Request #527395. I can't speak to if and when this functionality will change, but we're definitely aware of it.
