Can any high speed digitizers do continous acquisition?

Currently (1/30/01), none of the high speed digitizers (NI-5102, NI-5911 and NI-5112) can do continous acquisition.

As of NI-Scope 2.0 (current version is 2.1.4), you can now perform continuous acquisition on the NI 5112, NI 5620, and the NI 5621.

I though the scope cards could collect faster than the PCI bus could save, so I am suprised to hear this.

You are correct! Some digitizers can acquire data faster than the PCI bus can transfer it, so currently the highest sampling rate you can aquire continuously with is around 30MS/s (using the 5112 and depending on your PC of course). We are working on our driver to get the number closer to the specifications of the PCI bus. Page 5-7 of the NI-Scope Software Users Manual will give you more information on continuous data acquisition with NI Digitizers.

How fast can a PXI 5112 transfer data to harddrive in the controller card.

Josh doesn't the PCI transfer speed depend on whther the card is operating as a Master or a Slave. In master modes the speeds should be much higher than 30MB/s.
