The first requirement is that your high-speed digitizer board comes in a PXI form factor.
Note: The importing and exporting of trigger signals to and from your high-speed digitizer board is controlled with functions in the NI-SCOPE instrument driver.
Exporting trigger signals is accomplished with niScope_ConfigureTriggerOutput() in C and niScope Configure Trigger Output.vi in LabVIEW.
Importing trigger signals is accomplished with niScope_ConfigureTriggerSource() in C and niScope Configure Trigger Source.vi in LabVIEW.
NI 5102 for PXI:
This board can receive PXI star trigger signals, but it cannot generate them. What this means is that if your NI 5102 for PXI is in slot 2 of your PXI chassis, you cannot
send your 5102's trigger signal out onto the PXI star trigge
r lines. You can still send your 5102's trigger signal to any of the RTSI trigger lines (from any PXI slot). If your 5102 is in a slot other than slot 2, it can receive a trigger signal on the PXI star trigger line.
NI 5112 for PXI:
The NI 5112 for PXI can generate PXI star trigger signals from slot 2 of your PXI chassis. It can also receive star trigger signals from slots other than slot 2. It has no PXI star triggering limitations.
NI 5911:
The NI 5911 currently does not come in a PXI form factor.
