Hi,
While performing self-calibration on my PXI-5124 I encountered the attached error message with error code -234101.
I searched in NI website and found this link: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/38BABFA0A6580C2A86257027007181FA
It solves the problem for a slightly different error and I thought it might be useful.
So I upgraded my NI-Scope to 3.4.1 from version 2.5 , but it did not help.
Can anybody comment on this hardware error?

Hello,
Does this error occur when you try to perform a self calibration in MAX? Does it occur when trying to use the NI-Scope Soft Front Panel? And does it also occur in LabVIEW/CVI?
I am inclined to think that this particular message is a result of an actual hardware failure and would need to be sent back in to NI for repair. First, it would be a good idea to try this card in another chassis/controller if possible. Also, to try it in another slot in the current chassis.
Also, is this error only present if you try to self-cal? Does this come up at any other points in your code?

Hi Chris,
We started the self calibration from NI-Scope SFP.
We tried this because we were suspecting that there is a hardware failure.
The card was failing to read any waveform from its CH-1 and we tried to run the self calibration as a diagnostic tool, since the self-test started from NI-MAX reports a pass.
When we open the SFP, we do not even see a signal trace on CH-1.
That's weird, isn't it?
Even if there is no signal applied to the channel, it should be sampling its input.
The SFP's display window does not generate any errors, too.
If the card really failed, is it possible to have a temporary board during the repair period?
We do not have a spare board, and the test system too busy. We can at least use CH-0 and continue doing most of our tests.
But we cannot afford to remove the card from the system.
What would you suggest?

Hi Eren,
It sounds like it's a legitimate hardware failure and you should definitely get that board sent back in.
You'll want to go to ni.com/ask and create a service request to talk to an engineer. Mention to them that you've already verified that this is very likely an RMA with another Applications Engineer on the forums. Also, mention that you would like to try to get an advanced replacement and they can check to see if one would be available for you. I'm sorry to hear that this happened. I hope we can get it taken care of for you as soon as possible.
