synchronizing 2 CPCI 5122 Boards using External Sampling Clock or External Reference Clock

I need to synchronize 2 CPCI 5122 Boards with an external signal, and to trigger acquisitions with 2 different external digital triggers. I have 2 ways to do it:
1/ Using the same external sampling clock distributed 2 times on "CLOCK IN" Board1 and "CLOCK IN" Board2 but in this can I use at the same time 2 different external digital triggers?
2/ Using the same external reference clock signal:
2.1/ It is possible to input only one ext ref clk signal in the "CLOCK IN" Board1 and distribute it from "CLOCK OUT" Board1 to "CLOCK IN" Board2?
2.2/ If 2.1 possible can I use at the same time 2 different external digital triggers?
2.3/ If 2.1 not possible (so in this case I use 2 ext ref clock) can I use at the same time 2 different external digital triggers?

Hi,

To share signals between 2 PCI devices, you can use RTSI lines. But you need a RTSI cable.
NI-Scope 2.0 includes synchronization examples to get you started.

You mentioned that you are using 2 CPCI (PXI) 5122 boards. Are you using them in a PXI chassis? If you are, then the best way to synchronize these modules is using the TClk technology designed for these devices. Please start with the help file installed on your machine with NI-SCOPE 2.7 at the following default location:
C:\Program Files\IVI\Drivers\niTClk\Documentation\nitclk.chm
