PXIe 5641R on SLOT 9 or 10 of PXIe 1075 chassis

Hi Guys,

We are facing a problem with our IfRIO card 5641R on 1075 chassis, specifically slot 9 or 10. We ever we try to communicate (send or fetch data in a loopback), we are receiving garbage values (ie. we are not receiving the same values which were dumped on the FPGA). This phenomenon is occurring mostly when we try to reduce the wait time on the host side loop.

We tried running the same code on PXIe 1062 chassis (same controller) and the code was working fine.

We switched to SLOT 8 on 1075 chassis just for checking once again, and the card is working fine in this case also. What might be the reason?

The only difference I perceive between SLOT 8 and SLOT 9 or 10 is that SLOT 8 is directly routed to System SLOT whereas SLOT 9 or 10 are connected to the System SLOT via a switch. Can this be a factor?

Hello Vaibhav,

You mention that you are having problems with slots 9 and 10, could you also try slots 2 and 18? Also you mention that the problem manifests when reducing your wait time. What wait times work and which do not.

All of the slots in the PXIe-1075 chassis connect back to the System slot through PCIe switches, so that is not likely the source of this problem.

What would be very useful is a run down of working and failing wait times in slots 2, 8, 9 and 18. That would help us narrow down the source of the problem you are seeing.
