HI Valli

The microport address is configured in the Host VI.  You should not have to worry about setting it directly.  Although you could figure it out by looking at the Host VI.

Which brings up the next point.  I assume you are trying to run the FPGA program directly.  You should not be doing this.  This is not the proper method of using the NI PCI-5640R.  You should be running the Host VI.

On the contrary, I believe I have been bending over backwards trying to help you, including posting from home in the evenings.  But I need you to get up and running on the released version of the code.  We do not support the Beta software any longer.  At least I believe you are using the beta software based on your past posts.  That is why I need you to reinstall the ni5640r software with the released version.  With confirmation that you downloaded it and did as I asked in my last post.  As I stated before, it is not worth trying to get you running from where you are now until you reinstall with the confirmed released software.    Previous post (and directions): http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=ifrio&message.id=168&page=3

hey jerry,

              my installation step was

1.NI RIO 2.1

2.NI 5640R

3.LABVIEW 8.0

4.LABVIEW FPGA MODULE

When i try to install the labview fpga module it asks for nirio cd..... what should i do.....???? i have nirio2.1 in a folder that i saved from the ni link

when i try to add that folder *.exe file it says the "the required file not found"

If you are reinstalling everything, the installation steps should be:

1. LabVIEW 8.0
2. LabVIEW FPGA MODULE
3.NI-RIO 2.1
4.NI 5640R software

It is always a good idea to install your application development environment (ADE) prior to installing drivers/add on software.  This is so the drivers can place the required components in the LabVIEW directory.  If LabVIEW isn’t there, some of our drivers do not install their respective components since they can’t be used.

You should be able to just cancel the part asking for the NI-RIO CD.  Actually, when you configure the installation, you select that that specific component not be installed.  This is part of the installation configuration.

Sorry, I think you may have to uninstall and reinstall again.  But that does not include LabVIEW.  If you uninstalled LabVIEW FPGA, there might be an issue there now. So, now I recommend uninstalling LabVIEW FPGA and then reinstalling.  Remember, configure the configuration page so the NI-RIO is not installed.  When the LabVIEW FPGA is installed, then install NI-RIO from the files you downloaded.

hi jerry,
i did all the steps as u instructed.... my labview and fpga is perfect like the window that u showed me
i have sent a zip file with this post.....
zip 1 --> is the window that we were expected to get and i got it too
zip 2 --> can u see the difference in the FPGA target place;..... because of that after simulation the system says that "no fpga target to download the program"

my zip 1 target space should look like the one in zip 2 ........(RI0: INTR...) is missing

i tried to create a similar fpga vi but it says that it is missing sub vi file for obvious reasons( no lib file) so wat am i expected to do jerry

thank you
