hey Jerry,

i am able to see the same waveform as u showed on the Osiclloscope..... only if i adjust the time scale it ends up in a uneven sine wave.......

so eventually my doubt is .... : Is this ni5640R IQ output VI created to generate a random wave like that which u have shown for me......????
Can i reprogram the same FPGA VI ( Without changing the host VI ) to generate a sine wave is it possible......????because the configuring of the DAC and time configuration VIs are going to be the same for any VI that is expected to be created to communicate with the BOARD

Thank you

please

Thank you

Hi Valli

This can be a very in depth question depending on what you are asking, and all involve an in-depth description.

1.  If you are asking about how to create a basic LabVIEW structure called a Cluster, I would recommend looking at the LabVIEW Online Help, specifically the Grouping Data with Arrays and Clusters topic.  In this case, the data is a complex double data type.

2. If you are asking how to create the data it self easily, I would suggest using one of the Modulation Toolkit examples.  You can find these in LabVIEW Example Finder, look under Toolkits and Modules, and then Modulation.  There are many examples there to make many different complex waveforms and modulation types.

3. If you are asking about IQ/complex waveforms, I’ll have to refer you to a DSP text book.

Hi jerry,

U r correct i was trying to get the data itself easily. And when i tried accessing the examples that u suggested me(i.e) toolkits and modulation my system says that TOOLKIT was not installed. Is it my installation problem (i mean with Labview FPGA should this be installed) or do i need a new software named toolkit to access these examples

Thank you

Hi Valli

To get the Modulation Toolkit, that depends on where you got the module you are using.  Correct me I am wrong, but I believe that you are at university.  If so, contact the person you received the NI 5640R module from.  He or she should have received a package of software that included the Modulation toolkit.

If not, you need to contact your local sales representative, or purchase a package online.

hi jerry,

U r rite i have the software cd pack in my hands now...which has 3cds TOOLKIT SOFTWARE CDS...

i browsed through those cds and got the modulation toolkit and also installed it but still when i try to access the examples it gives me the same error

i have attached the error screen with this mail.

Thank you

Hi Valii

I’m not sure my self, but I think this example will need all the following toolkits and drivers:  NI-Scope, NI-Tuner, ni5660 VIs (all three of which are installed by NI-RFSA CD), Modulation Toolkit, LV 3D graph, and Advanced Analysis Library/Package. You should also probably install the Spectral Measurements Toolset if you haven’t already as you may run into that looking for examples.

The toolsets you need to have the CDs for or purchase them.  The Advanced Analysis toolset comes with LabVIEW Full and greater (not Base).  The drivers you can download from the following website:
