Hello
I want to connect Beckhoff Hardware via Ethercat to an industrial controller.
At the moment I'm using an ADS Server.
But the CPU usage is too high.
Is it possible to connect Ethercat Hardware directly to the IC-3121 in NI MAX (Windows 7 embedded)

The configuration for EtherCAT slaves happens through the project, I don't think there is a way to do it in MAX. Did you import the Beckhoff device files? And yes I do remember specifically that the IC-3xxx whatver series can support ethercat if it's running linux RT. You have to install the industrial communication for ethercat driver, designate a port as ethercat, and so on but you should be able to. If you are running windows I don't know

BTW not a lot of support directly from NI on this topic of third part ethercat. Fact of the matter is Beckhoff is very, very good for price + quality + selection right now. Tough for NI I guess 🙂
