No currently not, but we are working to release a PN PCI/PXI Master earlier next year.

Dirk,
Good news on the PCI Profinet board. I've been waiting for news on this product for a while. Do you know if this Profinet board will support IRT mode?

Just a side note on that topic: actually there is a Profinet IO Controller card on the market that claims to have LabVIEW driver :
http://www.molex.com/molex/products/datasheet.jsp?part=active/1120005032_NETWORK_INTERFACE.xml
It is a PCI-express card made by Brad / molex, formerly applicom, and seems to be RT only, not IRT (to be checked).
We have not tested it so far. All I can remember from applicom Profibus boards was that the LabVIEW drivers were.... well... functionnal for sure, but a bit... messy, to say the least. But that was a long time ago...
Still I'm curious to see what NI is going to release. Any information you can share on that, Dirk ? Is it also made in collaboration with Comsoft, like the cRIO Profibus products ?

Vincent

Yes, the Profinet Scanner/master is done in colaboration with our Partner Comsoft and it is actually both Master and Slave.. The device will not support IRT because there is just not the usage in the market for IRT according to Comsoft. Please let me know why you need IRT, so we can take it into account for later next year. The board driver behaves similar to how the Profibus driver works. There will be a configurator tool for network scan, address configuration and online test.
Let me know what else you need in terms of Profinet features. 😉

Hi Dirk,
I am looking also for a PCI PROFINET master. I know this thread is pretty old, but you mention in your message that probably it will be available early 2013.
I can not find it on the NI website. Was this card released or it is still in development?
