Traces of my shared variables are not recorded in the Citadel 5 database I specify

I created a separate Citadel 5 database in another directory than NI\data\ and I am triyng to write traces of my shared variables. I receive no error but the data is actually written in c:\NI\data\ in the database named C__NI_data. What could be wrong? can anybody help me?

Hi Eugen,

How are you writing the data to the database? Are you usingLabVIEW DSC Module?

Also, what directory are you trying to write to  other than NI\data? Do all paths other than NI\data not work?

Thank you for your reply and sorry for being late. I was in summer hollyday. I have LabView DSC. I loocked closer at the problem and I found that the record in C__NI_data directory is made by Shared Variable Engine, not by my Record Trace VI. So actually the Record Trace VI is not doing it's job. Open trace VI is specifiyng the target directory at 'C:\ProcessSupervisor\DataBase\'.The data base is created but there is no record in it.

What could it be?

Best regards,

Eugen

What does your Record Trace VI do?  Maybe you can post it so we can see what might be going wrong.  Also I suggest posting this in the LabVIEW Board since most people who might have experience in this probably won't be perusing the Profibus board.

Dear David,

The VI is actually the write trace vi from LabView. So normally it shouldn't be a problem. The program is rather big now an it is difficult to post. Should I do anything else in order to write a trace except the  Open Trace? The board is an Applicom Board and actually I read data on the MPI network. But this is not in connection with the topic.

Thank you.

Eugen
