I have LV2009 full developer kit. I made an .exe file that talks to an Agilent E4407b analyser - systems are Windows XP.
The code worked OK on the development PC but it would not communicate with the analyser on the deployment PC. This was because VISA was not installed on the deployment PC.
I tried to make an installer - under "additional installers" I put NI-VISA runtime, but when I try to build the installer, LV says that some products or their dependencies are unavailable (NI-488.2 for Windows). I have looked all through my HDD and the LV installation disks (Nov 2009), there are plenty of nidist.id files around but none of them seem to be the right one.
I got the deployed system working by installing the LV2009 driver disc directly to it - then my .exe works. But I shouldn't have to do this, I want to be able to make an installer that includes all the support drivers the application needs.
Thanks for any help

Try unistalling the existing visa and reinstall it again.

If your code uses GPIB then you need to install NI-488.2 in addition to VISA. So, the installer was probably correct. If you did not include NI-488.2 as part of your installer then you will need to do so.
