6034e card is not appearing in Devices and Interfaces using DAQmx 9.3

I have a NI-6034e card installed on a computer in my lab. Previously NI-DAQmx 8.7.1 was installed on the computer but the card was not recognized in Devices and Interfaces in MAX. I completely uninstalled the old version of NI-DAQmx and installed NI-DAQmx 9.3 and the card is still not recognized in MAX . I am running windows XP and have the traditional DAQ driver 7.4.4T installed as well according to the driver support chart requirements for PCI Devices. Any guidance you can provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Cara

Hi Cara,

Do you use the Traditional DAQ driver in any of your programming with the 6034e? If not, then you do not need it installed on your computer in order for the NI-6034e to work. I would recommend uninstalling Traditional DAQ and then reinstalling DAQmx. If you do require Traditional DAQ, I would still uninstall T-DAQ, and then reinstall DAQmx first, to see if the card is present. At that point, if you require T-DAQ, go ahead and install it. Have you been able to successfully use this card for data acquisition in this computer previously? If the reinstall does not work, there may be a problem with the PCIe slots on the computer - try installing the card in a different slot.

Hi Cara,

Also, as a preliminary step before uninstalling/reinstalling, you can try the steps listed in the following Knowledge Base article: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/86B8581D39A01DBB86257643005BC13B - it might be that your device is still reserved by T-DAQ, so it wouldn't show up in Measurement & Automation Explorer in that case.
