82357A USB/GPIB Interface

Hi folks !
Is it possible to use Agilent 82357A USB/GPIB Interface with LabVIEW 5.0.1 ? Or is it dependent on the version of NI-VISA I'm using ?
Sorry if this question has already been answered, but I couldn´t find it at NI site.
Thank´s in advanced.
Marcelo.

USB support is dependent on the NI-VISA version, not LabVIEW version. However, it is possible that the latest NI-VISA version no longer has support for LabVIEW 5.0.1. You might try installing the latest NI-VISA version which is available on www.ni.com. Keep in mind that the current version of LabVIEW is 7.1. There are many components with new features that no longer include support for such an old version of LabVIEW.

Hello,

You should be able to do this OK. You will need to install VISA, then you would also need to enable NI-VISA to be aware of Agilent VISA. This is not enabled by default. To do this, go into MAX, edit VISA options, and enable the NiVisaTulip.dll Passport. Now you should be able to use that in LabVIVEW.

Thanks, Noel and Steven !
I'll try to install a new NI-VISA and enable NiVisaTulip.dll Passaport. I think it will work.

Please help.  I am using the "82357A" and the "Devices and Interfaces" menu does not show the USB/GPIB device  "82357a".  The note says that adding the "Tulip" passport would make it be recognized by MAX.  This is not working for me.

NI visa and Agilent visa Interactive controls boths show the GPIB resources i.e "GPIB0:4:INSTR" for my instrument connected to the "82357" USB interface.  NI-MAX also sows the this Alias in the MAX-Software-Visa menu.  The problem is that LabWindows CVI Function Panels that are base on gpib 488.2 can not find the device.  If I use a function panel that uses the IVI, those panels work.  I do not have IVI style function panels for all my instruments.

I have an IVI style Function Panel for Agilent 34970A.

I need an IVI style Function Panel for HP 3488A switch control unit.

I need an IVI style Function Panel for  HP 3478A DMM.

OR... I need a way for my older 488.2 based fuction panels to recognize the devices connected to the "82357A" interface for GPIB.
