AT-GPIB/TNT+ install failure with Win98 and NIDAQmx

Problems getting an NI-AT-GPIB/TNT+ card to configure properly

 Configuration:

I need to build a dual boot system running win98 (constrained by required application software) and either win 2k or win xp (additional software needed but not compatible with win98).

I must use the NI-at-GPIB/TNT+ controller (application software requirement) and I am using Nexcom Peak 715GL2 SBC hardware with 1G memory and 80GB hard disk, CDROM and floppy.  Additionally, I am using NI-DAQmx for configuring and managing the GPIB controller card.  I am also using a MS C++ application with NI-DAQmx under win2K.

 Results:

Under win2k using NIDAQmx v2.x , only the GPIB controller section of the AT-GPIB/TNT+ is recognized.  It passes the verification tests (I have not tried to access instruments yet) but the analyzer will not load.  I REALLY need the analyzer to work in this configuration.

Under win98, using NI-DAQmx v1.7

Neither the analyzer or controller work.  Win98 device manager reports analyzer properly configured but controller section has an ! and drivers are not loaded.  No resource conflicts reported.  The GPIB validation software reports an unspecified failure and the analyzer software reports the GPIB address as non existent.

Questions:

1)      Does anyone have a win89 configuration with NIDAQmx v1.7 and AT-GPIB/TNT+ working?  Does the analyzer work?

2)      Does anyone have any ideas on this – this is REALLY FRUSTRATING.

bruce_C_10,

For your AT-GPIB/TNT+ card, are you using the DAQmx driver or the 488.2 driver?

For your Windows 98 machine I would recommend trying NI-488.2 version 1.7 and seeing if the card and analyzer will work then.

As for Windows 2000, the AT-GPIB/TNT+ device is only fully supported in Windows 98/Me and earlier. It will work in Windows 2000, but only as a controller, meaning that the analyzer functionality will not be available.

If you are in need of the GPIB Analyzer in the Windows 2000 or XP environment, I recommend the PCI-GPIB+ or PCIe-GPIB+.
