Accessing GPIB-Enet from VxWorks

I'd like to consort with anyone who has developed software for
the VxWorks OS to communicate with GPIB instruments via the
GPIB-Enet devices.

I have just mangaged to establish rudimentary communcation with
an instrument (exchange 'ID?' command & reply). My next goal
is to provide a similar functionality to the NIvisaic application
by having the GPIB controller locate which GPIB addresses are
occupied by an instrument on the bus. I would then like to
develop
somewhat of an API to allow application software to query the
controller, control instruments, etc.

I would be most grateful if anyone having previous experience in
this obscure area could contact me here, or off-line by e-mail.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I am also interested in doing this. I have purchased the ESP488 source package for the VxWorks platform, but it doesn't compile on VxWorks straight from the package. After updating the source, I am running it on a power pc - but am having a problem echoing characters from stdin. I am no VxWorks expert, so if it's something remedial or I have not given enough information, I apologize in advance.

Also - I'm trying to emulate the some of the higher level functions from the NI488.2M driver packages with the lower level ESP routines and was wondering if there was documentation anywhere that specified exactly what lower level functions were called via the higher level routines?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Liz,
I was curious to know how much of an effort it was to port the ESP488 package to VxWorks.
