All devices go remote when only 1 is addressed

I have a few vis that were converted from LV 5.1 to 7.0. When I run these vis, all of my GPIB devices go into remote mode, even though I am only addressing GPIB address 3 (one device). I have other vis that I also converted that don't act like this, so I am at a loss. The vis that do this cause all of my devices to go remote before I've even executed the vi or any subvi, nothing is set to execute on load in any of the vis or sub vis. This is really boggling my mind. Previously the VISA expressions were "select visa for class", now they are I/O path ring type controls. I wonder if the GPIB bus isn't being scanned by the I/O path controls causing all instruments to go remote. Weird though, I'd think all my vis would do th
is.

Hi,

Try passing a string control to the VISA open Vi instead of the VISA resource name control. The VISA open VI will accept the string data. The string control was used in LabVIEW 5.1 to initialize VISA sessions. You would also avoid placing the VISA resource name control on the front panel.
