Anyone know of a vi for the 34401A that can output the average of n readings with the input set to 10G ohm?

What exactly is your problem? Finding the function that sets the impedance or the function that takes multiple readings? The first is Configure DC Input Resistance and the second is Read (Multiple Points).

That is similar to what I was doing -- what happened was that when the vi executed the CONF:VOLT DC xx, x.xx command the meter defaulted to the 10M-ohm impedance. Last night I removed the CONF command and the vi works, but I'm not convinced this is the best solution.

Hi 34401Hi_Z,
I was wodndering if you had the instrument driver for this instrument. Here is a link for it.
http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.model_page?p_model_id=978
Install it and see if it has the VI you need.
