Bluescreen on Win NT with AT/GPIB TNT!

I have a AT/GPIB TNT board and 488.2 version 1.60 software. The computer crashes randomly and the "blue screen" on NT always appears, with this line included: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ** -gpibclsd.sys
and sometimes
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ** -afd.sys
I´ve tried several things but none work except for when I run it without network connection.

Anyone have a good answer??

Hello-

This has been known to happen with our PCI cards. There's a knowledge base about it:
http://www.ni.com/cgi-bin/search/search.cgi?scope=knowledgebase&query=23R7A8LS

If this doesn't help, it may help to searh for other knowledge base entries, but this should fix it.

Does it work with NT 4 to or is it just on Win2000?

I have the same error with the same card and the same driver as Sohrab, but under Win 2k Professional.
The knowledge base entry doesn't help, because there the error happens in gpibpci.sys, and not in gpibclsd.sys like it happens in my and sohrab's error. I tried it, and the error stayed.

i found nothing useful in the knowledge base...

Any solution out there?

Iwan,

Does it occur randomly? Does it run fine without a network connection? You have version 1.6 of the GPIB driver correct? Another discussion suggests updating LV to 6.0.2! What version do you have?

Hi Pavan

Yes it occurs randomly. Sometimes it even resets the complete PC!
I want to control a LeCroy LT364L DSO over GPIB. I downloaded the driver from here for this DSO and it occurs frequently, when I close the driver.

I use Labwindows/CVI 5.5, not Labview.

Yes, I use version 1.6 of the GPIB Driver under Win2k.

Without network connection... not yet tested, I will test that immediately.

thank you for your help!

I have heard of this before but haven't been able to reproduce the error. If it works without a network connection/ you might want to try a different network interface card.

Just so you have the latest updates...
there's a patch for LabWindows/CVI 5.5, http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/websearch/090082BECD7AC973862568EA005704EE?OpenDocument&node=132070_US

The latest VISA version, 2.6 can be downloaded from, ni.com > Support > Product Reference > Drivers and Updates > Current Versions, and for the latest Instrument Drivers refer, http://zone.ni.com/idnet97.nsf/browse/
