Bulk Head Connector for a MXI Express Bus Works fine when I communicate with a PXI bucket, but when I connect to a VXI chassis

have developed a pass through PCB that acts as a Bulk Head Connector for a MXI Express Bus. It Works fine when I communicate with a PXI bucket, but when I connect to a VXI chassis and run resman I get a 0xbfff0011 error. Does anyone know why this might happen? Thanks

Based on some searching of that hex error code, it seems as though it has to do with VISA communications:

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0011) Insufficient location information or the device or resource is not present in the system

I'd check that the VXI chassis is being properly addressed as a first step.

Using 2 cables can attenuate the signal quite a bit.  Longer cables use a heavier wire guage to compensate, so two 3m cables will have more loss than one 7m cable.  Have you tried with two 1m cables?  It may be that the signal is reduced, and only one system is still able to link.

Not as many sideband signals are used on the PXI-8360, so there's also a chance that a wiring error in your bulkhead adapter could be ignored by one and not the other.
