Can I monitor/record solar system serial data with a iMac G3 using virtual PC?

Can I monitor/record solar system serial data from my inverter, SMA-America SWR-2500U, with an iMac G3/266 using virtual PC? I also have a new iMac G4 but would prefer to use the older machine.

HI,

By serial I assume you talking about RS-232. If you're instrument has a RS-232 it really doesn't matter what PC you're using, the serial interface is the same.

To access the serial port it really depends on what programming enviroment you are using or planning to use.
