Can I read *.spy files w/NISpy, but w/o GPIB hw?

I have a software engineer working at a remote location, and I'd to email him some .spy files to look at. His computer (WMe) does not (and has never had) any GPIB hw installed. Is there any way for him to read the .spy files?

As an experiment, I tried installing the NI GPIB driver set v1.60 on a computer here (W2K) that also has never had GPIB hardware. Attempting to launch NISpy after installation resulted in a "NI Spy unable to locate the NI Spy logger dll. Please reinstall."

Reinstalling didn't help. Neither did trying to install a non-existant interface.

Is there a "virtual" or simulated interface he can install?

Thanks!

You do not need hardware in order to run NI-SPY or open *.spy files with NI-SPY. It sounds as if the install was incomplete or corrupt (not as admin?).

That looks like it was the problem. Oddly, it seems like I must be logged in with admin privs before I can run NISpy on this machine. Even if I install as admin, I can't run it as a regular user (I don't get any error this time, but the .spy file shows up as blank).

If I log back in with admin privs, then everything works fine.

Dunno where the problem lies, but in any case I have a way to make this work. Thanks!
