Yes, you can have 4 PCI-485/8 cards in the same PC if you have 4 PCI slots in your PC. But there is definitely a better choice and that is PXI. Interfaces for PXI are available with up to 16 ports. PXI RS-485 cards are not currently available in a 16-port version. The largest port-count RS-485 interface card is either the 8-port PXI-8421/8 or PCI-485/8. If PCI slot availability is a concern, another option is to use mulitple Enet-485 interfaces.
