Hi
I have a Xantrex 6000W Digital Programmable DC Power supply (Xantrex XDC 40-150). It has the following control modes: RS-232; GPIB; Local, Multichannel and Analog.
I would like to use Labview 8.0 to control and capture data for my setup using a standard PC with USB and (presumably) RS-232 connections. Can I use the RS-232 port and connect it directly to the PC with a standard null modem cable, or must I use the GPIB (488.2) port (with some other cable) for Labview?

As far as I know if you have all the RS232 Commands for your device, you will be able to use Labview to communicate with Xantrex via RS232.

I don't know if you use a null-modem or straight-through cable but there is a driver and it supports RS-232.
